3 Night / 4 Day Itinerary

Chobe National Park, in the North of Botswana, is one of Africa’s great parks.  Lush flood plains of the Linyani and Chobe rivers, mopane woodlands, rolling grass plains and the fossil lakebed of the Mababe Depression offer a variety of habitats for huge herds of elephant, buffalo and zebra.  The game provides ample feeding ground for lion, hyena, cheetah and numerous other predators.  Few places in the world can equal Chobe’s enormous variety of Big Game and bird life.

Day One

Savuti
In the heart of the Chobe National Park lies a dynamic wilderness and eco-system called Savuti, an arid environment created over hundreds of years by a mysterious change in the ecosystem that is still evolving today.  The summer rains bring a feast of lion, hyena and cheetah as thousands of migrating zebra assemble in a chaotic pattern on the marsh.  Cape buffalo herds arrive in numbers and migrant birds swell Savuti’s resident 300 species.

You will be flown into the Okavango Delta towards Savuti….enjoy the dramatic scenery as you fly over this awesome land.

Once you have landed you will be divided into groups and shown your Land Rover Discovery or similar 4 x 4 vehicle.   You will drive a short distance to the Savuti HATAB tented camp for a quick  freshen up, before you follow your guide in your own vehicles (taking turns to drive) for an afternoon game drive – this is one of the best times of day to see wildlife as they normally go to waterholes to drink.

Arrive back in camp just as it is getting dark. Snacks and sundowner drinks will be served.  Followed by a 3-course dinner set in the open under the stars.

Day Two

Linyanti National Park
Just as it is about to get light, you will be woken up with a cup of steaming coffee.  Everyone to meet at the vehicles as the dawn is about to break to begin your early morning wildlife adventure.  Return to camp around 08h30 where you will enjoy a delicious breakfast.  After breakfast, begin your next leg of this adventure northwards towards Linyanti National Park.  En route, enjoy a picnic lunch.  Arrive in camp late afternoon and spend the afternoon relaxing around this lovely campsite.

3 course dinner this evening.

Day Three

Linyanti / Chobe National Park
Located in Northern Botswana, some 90 kilometres from the spectacular Victoria Falls, the park covers 11700 square kilometres of pristine wilderness.  Vast endless landscapes, open plains, baobabs and ancient woodland dominate the panorama.  The wildlife roam in profusion and diversity.  The elephant population, estimated to number in excess of 35000, is the largest single concentration in Africa surviving within the confines of a proclaimed National Park.  Other major species such as lion, square lipped rhino, wild dog, sable and roan antelope are encountered in many areas of the reserve.

Early morning wake up and breakfast in camp, which will be scrumptious eggs, toast, cereal, fruit and coffee.  Watch the early morning sun come up over the Linyanti plains.  Then depart for the drive to the northern reaches of Botswana – the Chobe River.  Arrive in camp late afternoon for sundowners and a ‘’braai’’ under the stars with the sounds of the Africa bush echoing in the distance.

Day Four

Chobe National Park / Mowana
Early morning wake up with coffee and rusks, followed by breakfast.  You will be met around 08h30 for a boat trip to Mowana Safari Lodge situated near Kasane where you will send the last night before flying back home.
