Photographic SafarisHannes Lochner is a professional wildlife photographer who runs ‘’personally guided safaris’’ within Southern Africa, specializing in ‘’wildlife photographic adventures’’. Hannes was born and raised in Cape Town, South Africa. His passion and love for the African wildlife was developed during his childhood years, when his family spent their holidays exploring the game reserves in South Africa. After studying graphic design at the University of Stellenbosch, Hannes decided to return to his roots as a naturist and become a full time river guide in Namibia. His hunger still not satisfied, he left and went travelling, exploring the globe and kayaking exciting and challenging rivers. However, Hannes still had a yearning to return to Africa. His love for the animals and birds triumphed in the end when in 2007 he became a full time wildlife photographer, combined with running ‘’personally guided safaris’’. Hannes’ spiritual home is in the open bushveld of Southern Africa – especially the Kalahari! It is here that he feels at one with nature, hence his passion and talent for wildlife photography. Hannes has traveled extensively in Southern Africa; Kalahari, Kruger National Park, the Richtersveld and Namibia. Hannes has published a book called ‘’Colours of Southern Africa’’. "This book is an illustration, an expression if you will, of my awareness of the splendour and the magnitude of all the colours and the creatures of this glorious continent. My canvasses are her brilliant blue skies, her rolling golden plains, her lush green vegetation and her vast, red deserts. This is my tribute. These are the colours of Southern Africa."
